{"id":1566,"date":"2014-06-25T14:29:54","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T21:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/?p=1566"},"modified":"2019-02-11T13:44:44","modified_gmt":"2019-02-11T20:44:44","slug":"peaking-ravioli-pot-stickers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/devsite\/peaking-ravioli-pot-stickers\/","title":{"rendered":"Peaking Ravioli Pot Stickers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1565 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Pot Stickers\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/devsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/devsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847-scaled-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/devsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/devsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/IMG_0847-700x525.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a>What are Pot Stickers?<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you don&#8217;t know by now, Americans&nbsp;love Chinese Pot Stickers. &nbsp;If you&#8217;ve been to any Chinese Buffet in the last 10 years, you&#8217;ve seen them. &nbsp;They&#8217;ve even become so popular, they sell them&nbsp;right next to the frozen burrito&#8217;s&nbsp;of just about every grocery store in America. &nbsp;I don&#8217;t know the history or the exact Origin of the Pot Sticker, I mean, that&#8217;s what Wikipedia is for, right, but I can tell you that these are usually prepared fresh everyday, and they&#8217;re made by hand, not stamped out of a cookie cutter.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">What are Pot Stickers made of?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_20120712_211337.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-639\" src=\"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_20120712_211337-155x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20120712_211337\" width=\"155\" height=\"300\"><\/a>The breakdown is very simple; &nbsp;Ground Pork, Onion, Carrots and a few Asian Sauces, Hoisin and Oyster Sauce. &nbsp;Just a few secret folds that aren&#8217;t too complicated, and Voila, you&#8217;ve got Pot Stickers! &nbsp;Well, at least in theory, right. &nbsp;But now what? &nbsp;Do you throw them in boiling water? &nbsp;The answer is NO! &nbsp;Technically I guess you could, but these things are traditionally steamed. &nbsp;And if you don&#8217;t have a Steamer, no worries. &nbsp;This video tutorial will show you how to do it without one, So let&#8217;s dive right in and make some Pot Stickers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Be sure to check out my Shrimp Dumplings recipe because I have the best&nbsp;sauce recipe in that post to dip these Pot Stickers in if Tempura dipping sauce isn&#8217;t available in your area.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gqaAOmipInc\" width=\"640\" height=\"330\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pot Stickers Ingredients:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1 pkg Pot Sticker Wrappers<br \/>\n8 oz Ground Pork Sausage or just Pork<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Carrots<br \/>\n1\/3 Cup Scallions<br \/>\n1 tsp Hoisin Sauce<br \/>\n1 tsp Oyster Sauce<br \/>\n1 tsp Black Ground Pepper<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp Chopped Garlic<br \/>\nWater to glue the Wrappers together<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. &nbsp;Wet the edges of each wrapper and place about 1 tbsp of Ground Pork mixture &nbsp;in the center, and then fold in half like a taco. &nbsp;Then proceed to one of the corners and pleat the edge of one side and apply pressure to make the wrapper stick, all the way around in a half moon shape. &nbsp;Then place Pot Stickers in a steamer lined with Bok Choy leaves or Cabbage and Steam for 7 minutes. &nbsp;Pan fry in a lightly oiled pan for a 1 minute, or until the bottoms turn a light golden brown, &nbsp;Drip dry onto some paper towels then serve your Pot Stickers with some <a title=\"Secret Sauce\" href=\"http:\/\/poormansgourmetkitchen.com\/secret-sauce-for-ham-or-shrimp-fried-rice.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tempura Dipping Sauce<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are Pot Stickers?
