Berry Syrup – Strawberry, Raspberry and Blueberry

Youtube Berry Syrup3

I promised to show you how to make Berry Syrup on my Oreo Waffles video and here it is. It goes great on Pancakes and French Toast as well and It doesn’t get any easier than this. You can also add a pinch of Cinnamon if you’d like and either Vanilla or Maple to authenticate the syrup but it isn’t necessary. This recipe can be as thick or as thin as you want to make it by adjusting the cornstarch.  Also, you can make this a singular recipe by using one fruit only to make your syrup if you prefer just Raspberry or Blueberry syrup only.  And, if you prefer, you can puree this in a blender when it’s done if you don’t want it to be chunky like mine.

Be sure to check out that Oreo Waffle in the link below and the Cherry Topping if you’d like another alternative to the Berry Syrup.  I also make mean Puff Pancakes that go wonderfully with either one of these toppings!

Oreo Waffles

Oreo Waffles are the BEST!

There are all kinds of different ways to make an Oreo Waffle and I’m here to tell you that they are the best.  Especially if you dress them up the way I like to do mine, here in this recipe.  And just so you know, this isn’t as much of a recipe as it is an ingredients list of things to buy with an instructional video that shows you how I like to do it.  So if you’re an Oreo Cookie fan and you love Waffles, you better check this out because it is easy, delicious and fun to make.

Oreo Waffles are Easy

This is a very simple way to make Oreo Waffles without having to make them from scratch.  I think a lot of people like to just buy a pre made Waffle mix to make it easier so they can just add the minimal ingredients, anyway.  But, if you’ve got a favorite homemade recipe you want to stick with, be my guest.  And once you get that all whipped up, all you’ve gotta do is add some crushed Oreo Cookies.  It makes a real fun addition to a normally plain and basic waffle.  Then I like to slap some Vanilla Frosting in between two waffles, just like a cookie, and add my Homemade Berry Syrup and whip cream.

Also, be sure to check out my Crepes with the Cherry Topping and my Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies in the links below.

Oreo Waffles Ingredients:

1 box Waffle Batter Mix, pre made
1 bag Oreo Cookies, 4 Oreo’s per waffle
1 cup Vanilla Frosting, 2 tbsp per square/triangle
Whip Cream to taste
Syrup of your choice, I use my Homemade Berry Syrup

Be sure to watch the video tutorial for these Oreo Waffles and I’ll show you how easy they are to make.

Vegetable Chili with 4 Beans

Vegetable Chili

100% Vegetarian Vegetable Chili

This Vegetable Chili, for me, is really exciting.  Because this time of year I get to start, slowly but surely, harvesting what I’ve been growing in my garden all summer long.  In this video I was able to use my Zucchini and Yellow Squash.  Everything else unfortunately isn’t ready to be picked yet but I was able to pick up those ingredients at the store.

4 Bean Vegetable Chili

I’m using 4 different kinds of beans in this Vegetable Chili recipe; Pinto, Black, Red and Garbanzo Beans but you can use whatever you like.  The basic idea behind this recipe starts with the Cajun Holy Trinity; Onions, Celery, Bell Peppers and chopped Garlic.  Then I like to work my way up the pot with the larger vegetables, Tomato Sauce and then the seasonings before I add the beans.  But once all 4 cans of those are in, I add the broth and simmer for 10 minutes with the lid.  In no time you will have the absolute best Vegetarian Chili you have ever had.  In fact the only thing that would make this Vegetable Chili recipe better is Chicken!

Vegetable Chili Ingredients:

1 can Pinto Beans
1 can Black Beans
1 can Red Beans
1 can Garbanzo Beans
1 can Tomato Sauce
3 Cups Vegetable Broth

1 Onion, chopped
1 Bell Pepper, chopped
1 Celery Stick, chopped
1 Garlic Clove, chopped
2 Roma Tomatoes, Chopped
1 Zucchini, chopped
1 Yellow Squash, chopped
1 Corn on the cob, sliced
1 Chipotle Pepper in Adobo Sauce, minced
1/3 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
3 tbsp Olive Oil, for sauteing

1 tsp Coriander
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Cumin
1 tbsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Cocoa
Salt and Pepper to taste

To make this 4 Bean Vegetable Chili, just follow the instructions in the video tutorial.
