Cheeseburger Pot Pie

The Best Cheeseburger Pot Pie

This Cheeseburger Pot Pie sure is a fun twist on a traditional cheeseburger and a Pot Pie. Besides, who doesn’t truly love a puff pastry or pie crust cooked to perfection.  Personally, I think combining these two recipes is Genius.  But don’t just take my word for it.  Originally, I saw this idea posted on Instagram and I decided that I needed to try it for my self and I suggest that you do the same.

Make a Crispy Cheeseburger Pot Pie

As you’ve probably already guessed, the only difference between a regular burger and this Cheeseburger Pot Pie is that it isn’t made with a bun, it is baked with a Pastry.  So, you should treat it as such.

The one thing I learned, after I filmed the video, was that I should have baked the bottom crust first, for approximately 10 minutes, before I added the other ingredients and baked them altogether, as instructed.  This ensures that the entire pot pie turns out crispy and it makes a much more pleasant experience eating it like a hamburger.

Cheese Burger Pot Pie Ingredients:

2 Puff Pastry Sheets 12″ X 12″
1 lbs Ground Beef
1 egg for egg wash
1 pickle, sliced
Ketchup and Mustard, to taste
Salt and Pepper to taste

Bake the bottom crust for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, then add the rest of the ingredients to make the Cheeseburger Pot Pie and bake again for an additional 15 Minutes.

How to Make Movie Theater Popcorn

Popcorn Main pic

I’ve researched Movie Theater Popcorn, the real stuff, and it’s very easy and simple to make. The problem is that the ingredients aren’t readily available at just any grocery store but there’s a way you can do it your self and still have it turn out the same if you have some of these ingredients below.

There’s virtually only 5 things you need to know.  What kind of Oil, Seasoning and Type of Corn to use and of course what Temperature and technique.  I say technique because it is possible to do this in a standard frying pan and still have it turn out great.

I use a 12″ deep dish pan with a lid and I cook dialed in to about a 7, on a scale of 1-10, on the stove top.  I use Butter flavored Coconut Oil, Flavacol popcorn salt(also butter flavored) and white, not yellow, popcorn kernels.  There are knock off oils and seasonings in grocery stores but the’re not at all the same.  So I ended up juggling a few sites between their outrageous shipping fees to order the salt and I have since found that making your own butter flavored coconut oil is virtually the same.  Besides, who needs a 5 gallon bucket of popping oil stored away in their cupboard.

Movie Theater Popcorn Ingredients:

3/4 cup White Popcorn Kernels
1/4 cup Butter flavored Coconut Oil
1/2 tsp Butter flavored Flavacol Popcorn Salt

Melt and mix 1 part salted butter with 1 part coconut oil or use premade Butter flavored Coconut Oil.  Regular fine grain salt can replace the Butter flavored Flavacol popping salt if necessary.  But, if you can find it, it’s worth it and it makes all the difference in the world.

Mexican Style Grilled Corn on the Cob

Mexican Style Corn on the Cob Main pic

The Best Corn on the Cob

This Mexican Style Corn on the Cob recipe, otherwise known as Elotas, is the absolute best way to grill your corn.  It’s the street style Corn on the Cob you get from the push carts in L.A. so I’m tellin’ ya, you’ve got a winner here with this recipe.  It’s absolutely, hands down, the best Corn on the Cob I have ever had!

Grilled Corn on the Cob

I find that the best Corn on the Cob always tastes better when it’s been grilled.  In the video tutorial, I just use an electric grill for filming but it’s not even close to the same thing.  So if you’ve got an outside grill with propane or some charcoal, that’s definitely the way to go.  The smoke and the flame will take the Elotas to a whole new level.  Also, be sure to use regular Mayonnaise, not light.  You’ll cheat the flavor.  The Cheese I used here is a Mexican Cheese called Catija but you can use Queso Fresca or even just Parmesan if that’s all you’ve got.  It really won’t make that big of a difference.  Just don’t replace any other ingredients unless you want to stick to plain chili powder instead of the taco seasoning.
